The International Pentecostal Assembly is a Full Gospel Christian Organization in Trinidad and Tobago that was founded by Reverend Peter Hakim Hosein in 1953. It was on the 24th July 1949 that the founder of this organization, Reverand Peter Hakim Hosein was baptized and thus the organization was formed when he preached his first lesson. He followed this with a regular Thursday night service in Loney Road, Indian walk where many were saved.
One night, as Reverand Peter Hakim Hosein was contemplating building plans for a church in Indian Walk, God spoke to him and instructed him to build the church in Cumuto. Consequently, the first church of The International Pentecostal Assembly, Bethel Tabernacle, was established in 1953.
Then from Cumuto, he went on to establish churches in Barrackpore, Clark Road, Gasparillo, Jeffers, Basseterre, Siparia, St. Croix and even islands of the Caribbean such as St. Vincent, Grenada, Guyana and Tobago. He preached in the United States of America, Russia and Canada. He obtained an affiliation with the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel.
He passed the mantle over to his son, the current Bishop of the International Pentecostal Assembly and Senior Pastor of Covenant City Church, Dr. Elvis Joshua Hosein in August 1998.
Reverend Peter Hakim Hosein went on to be with the Lord on the 16th March 2002.
This ministry was birthed in 1960 by Reverend Peter Hakim Hosein, the founder of the International Pentecostal Assembly through a planned crusade for Gasparillo at the home of a gentleman named Ramjattan.
The crusade lasted for two weeks of nightly services and then after a year of weekly services, in 1961 the land where the church currently stands was acquired through the goodwill of Brother Paul Mathura.
Upon receiving the land, Reverend Peter Hakim Hosein embarked on the construction process of the church and in 1963, the building was dedicated and named (Jesus) Revival Centre. Many families began to make CCC heir home church under the pastoral care of the numerous shepherds such as Reverend Peter Hakim Hosein, Pastor Wilson Ramai, Pastor Khan, Pastor Rodney Lalchan, Pastor Rhea Hosein and to our present shepherds Bishop Dr. Elvis Joshua Hosein and Pastor Dr. Taurel Shrikissoon.
The church was renamed in the early 2000s to Covenant City Church and also a reconfiguration in the type of building, size and structure for the 20th century.
Currently, the church has embarked on being the beacon of HOPE for the local community and environs by staying strong to its evangelism program and outreach.
